Olaf has an incredible enthusiasm for exploration to off-the-beaten-path locations that have unique natural beauty and/or indigenous cultures. Olaf loves the history of the great explorers and is deeply curious about opening their frontiers to himself and his fellow travelers—which is why Olaf began Explorers’ Corner.

Olaf has been an adventure travel guide for over 20 years, leading kayaking trips on all seven seas and has a loyal following of paddling explorers. Olaf has been a fellow of The Explorers Club for fifteen years. He is a passionate eco-tourist activist working to help promote sustainable tourism in developing countries in the quest to save the worlds natural habitats. Olaf speaks 6 languages, has a Ph.D. in chemistry and a masters in law and diplomacy from Tufts University. He is also a former science educator at UCSF. Olaf is an avid outdoorsman having mountain climbed, dog sledded and hiked in more than eighty countries spanning 35 years. Olaf loves to have fun and is claimed to be great company!
